Do I need an account?
No — Ionnsaich is free and works without one. But an account is worth having for these, which need one:
- Your progress on every deviceFlashcards, your streak, saved words, what you’ve read, your scenes, game scores, badges and how you’re doing on each grammar point — the same on your phone, tablet and computer, and safe if you clear your browser.
- A daily reminder · Turn it on in SettingsA notification on days you haven’t practised yet, at a time you choose. It needs your synced progress to know whether you practised on another device.
- Joining a class · Join with a codeJoin your teacher’s class with a code. Their assignments come to you, with due dates, and your score reaches them when you finish — no copying a result back.
- Teaching a class · Make a classMake a class, set assignments, and see each student’s scores, practice days and progress on each grammar point.
- Speaking partners · Find a partnerFind other learners to practise speaking with (18 and over), with alerts on your phone when someone asks or answers.
- Suggesting events · Suggest an eventAdd a class, conversation group, cèilidh or talk to the events calendar, for others to find once it’s checked.
Every lesson, story, game and drill, the phrasebook, dictionary, translator, conversation practice, a teacher’s practice links and the newsletter all work without an account. Progress is kept in this browser.
Signing in takes an email address — we send a link and a code, so there’s no password — or a Google account. We keep your email and your progress, and nothing you don’t choose to add; the privacy page has the detail. You can delete the account, and everything with it, at any time.
